A holiday with Tibet Adventure Travel. The following illustrates a typical holiday to ‘The Land Of The Snows’.

On a 21 day holiday you fly to the impressive of Beijing and stay overnight in a central Hotel from which you will visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and Great Wall of China.

You will fly onto Lhasa where you will be picked up and taken to a great hotel then, accompanied by a guide and you can discover the real flavour of Lhasa. In the evening we will go to the Dunya Restaurant, Lhasa’s best restaurant. You will visit the Potala Palace (if requested) or Drepung Monastery and visit the Barkor for gift shopping.

The following day a visit to Shigatse and a walk around the old town is well worth it to appreciate what Tibet used to be like. We drive to Shelkar where we stay overnight then you trek up to see the world highest mountain, Everest.

Leaving the heights and vistas of Everest we leave by 4x4, heading East to the outskirts of Lhasa where you will spend a day horse riding on the Tibetan plains. We travel by road to Yangpangchen where you will stay with a traditional Tibetan family and see how they live. You will become the curiosity of the village as people take an amusing interest in you! After another over night stay in a Traditional Tibetan house you will be transported to a wonderful national park and drive on to the tranquil beautiful turquoise waters of Nam Tso Lake where you will spend the night in a luxury tent. You can do the kora, and visit a cave monastery.

We then transport you to Ganden so you can start the 5 day trek to Samye, the most popular trek in Tibet which is 80km long. After your four day trek you can rest, relax and enjoy the impressive Samye Monastery. In the morning you catch the first bus at 8.30 am to the Tsetang lakeside and cross an amazing lake by boat, a trip we promise you won’t forget.

You will be picked up and driven back to a luxury hotel in Lhasa. You can either have the afternoon to yourself or visit another monastery. You will then be transported by coach to Lhasa airport where you will fly back to Beijing.

From your hotel we will arrange for you to have a tour of the Beijings Hutong by Rickshaw, and a meal in one of Beijing’s best restaurants by Ritan Park. After an overnight stay in a hotel you will be transported to the airport by taxi where you will leave for England with all but happy memories of the Land of the Snows.
