Cycle to Base Camp Everest

Peter is looking for adventurous people to accompany him on an amazing trip. He will organise logistics, permits and visas, and most of the equipment, i.e. new lightweight mountain bikes fitted with professional waterproof panniers. All you need have is the time, will and fitness necessary to complete the 420 km, or 350 mile bike ride in the Himalayas. We travel from Kathmandu to Base Camp through spectacular scenery. The best time to travel is either May or September.

The good news is out of 21 days, only 9 are in the saddle!?

The hardest day is a 70 mile cycle ride. Rest days have been scheduled in otherwise to ensure you don¡¯t suffer from exhaustion. Remember, this is meant to be enjoyable, and we will each probably be carrying approx up to 10kg of kit/food each. This will lighten as we go on. ?Obviously fitness is important, and you must be capable of cycling 70 miles in a day in England prior to undertaking this trip.

A seven day food supply will be a carried, consisting of porridge, muesli, pasta, ready cooked meals, energy bars, and flap jacks

The schedule is both achievable and enjoyable to serious cyclists, or those who train for the event. If you are interested in this trip please contact Peter on 07504 250 572, or by email to discuss this trip in further detail.
